25 Jun 1915: Embarked Private, 458, 20th Infantry Battalion, HMAT Berrima, Sydney
4 Aug 1916: Honoured Military Medal, Battle for Pozières , For conspicuous gallantry at Poziers. During the assault on the German line trenches on the night 4/5th August 1916, Pte Davis brought up ammunition and stores to the newly captured positions through an intense enemy artillery barrage. He also assisted a number of wounded back from the front to the second line and also acted as guide to a relieving Battalion. These duties were performed with the utmost gallantry and coolness.
