Son of James Browne Unsworth and Ellen Anastasia Unsworth nee Whalen of Queen Street, Brisbane, QLD.
15 August 1916 - enlisted at Brisbane, QLD with the Field Artillery Brigade with the rank of Gunner
23 October 1917 - transferred to the 14th Field Artillery Brigade
2 November 1917 - wounded. Gassed embarked for England on 7 November 1917
1 May 1919 - transferred to the Australian Pay Corps with the rank of Corporal
Returned to Australia on 23 June 1920 aboard HT Bahia Castillo
Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal
28 December 1920 - discharged at the 1st Military District as medically unfit
On 22 October 1930 Geoffrey married Florence Isabel Johnson in QLD.
