"...932 Private Roy Plowright, 24th Battalion... A motor mechanic from Warrnambool, Vic prior to enlistment, Pte Plowright embarked with D Company from Melbourne on HMAT Euripides on 10 May 1915. On 4 October 1917, aged 21, he died of wounds received in action at Passchendaele, and was buried in the Godewaersvelde British Cemetery, France." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)

DEARLY LOVED ONLY SON OF C.R. & J. PLOURIGHT BROTHER OF LILY & RENIE

Archdeacon Bennett yesterday received official intimation of the death of Pte. Roy Plouright, son of Mr. R.C. Plouright, licensee of the Western Hotel, and in his absence from the town the sad duty of informing the bereaved parents devolved upon the Rev. A. J. Horner. Pte. Plouright died of wounds on the 5th inst,. in France. Great sympathy will be felt for his sorrowing parents and relatives.

PLOURIGHT.-On 5th October, 1917, died of gunshot wounds, at 37th Casualty Clearing Station, France, No 932, Pte. Roy Plouright, 61st Infantry Brigade: beloved only son of Mr. and Mrs. Plouright, Warrnambool and dearly loved brother of Lily (Mrs. Lock), and Rene, aged 21 years. After 2½ 
years active service.
He died that shirkers may live.


PLOURIGHT.-Died of wounds in France, Roy, dearly loved brother of Lily, and brother-in-law of C. Lock, uncle of little Glory. He gave his all.
