Errol Cappie Nepean DEVLIN was born in Penrith, NSW in 1891

His parents were Sidney William DEVLIN & Mary CROOK who married in Sydney in 1886

He first enlisted on 12th August, 1914 and served with the Australian Naval & Military Expeditionary Tropical Unit, 1st Battalion and embarked on the HMAT Berrima on 19th August, 1914 & returned to Australia and was discharged on 4th August, 1915

He then re-enlisted on 22nd March, 1915 and embarked from Sydney on the HMAT Ceramic on 25th June, 1915 with the 18th Infantry Battalion

Errol was Killed in Action at Fleurbaix in France on 30th May, 1916 and is buried in the Brewery Orchard Cemetery
