Great Sydney Central Station Honour Board

James FITZPATRICK, (Service Number 3050) born in Randwick in 1894, joined the Tramways as a shop boy at the Randwick workshops in 1912. Six months later he resigned but was re-employed three months after that. In September 1915 he was released from duty to enlist in the AIF at Warwick farm (as ‘James Aloysius Patrick Fitzpatrick’), giving his ‘trade or calling’ as ‘clerk’.

On 21 February 1917 was wounded in action in France, and died of his wounds at a casualty clearing station on 25 February.
He was buried in Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, 2½ miles SSW of Albert.

James FITZPATRICK (Service Number 3050) was born in Randwick in 1894.He joined the Tramways as a shop boy at the Randwick workshops in 1912.  Six months later he resigned but was re-employed three months after that.  In September 1915 he was released from duty to enlist in the AIF at Warwick farm (as ‘James Aloysius Patrick Fitzpatrick’). He gave his ‘trade or calling’ as ‘clerk’.

He embarked from Sydney in October 1915. He was sent first to Egypt.  He suffered mumps and was put on light duties while recovering. He later had a few days in hospital with Influenza. He was sent to France in June 1916, landing at Marseilles.  In August he was promoted to Corporal. On 21st February 1917 he was wounded in action. He died of his wounds at a casualty clearing station on 25th February 1917. 

He was buried in Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, 2½ miles SSW of Albert.
