Biography contributed by Kip Pritchard

Granville had a brother, Norman who inlisted under the name of 5538 Norman Pritchard Maclean (/explore/people/208613) as their mother had remarried to Rockletz John Maclean and together had a son, 20765 James Noll Maclean (/explore/people/317365) (their step-brother). All served in WW1, with James spending his 16th birthday in the trenches of France. Another step-brother Rochlitz John Maclean (/explore/people/799618) served in WW2

The three men survived the conflict although Norman was badly gassed and sufferd ill health for the rest of his life.

Granville whent on to have six sons and one daughter, they all served in WW2. First born were twins and were named, Granville Jnr (/explore/people/799610) and Norman Jnr (/explore/people/643992). Then came Keith (/explore/people/745750), Raymond (/explore/people/799612)Dudley (/explore/people/745738) and Geoffrey (/explore/people/799611). Their daughter was Dorthy (/explore/people/799613). She was married to Wallace R. Dunn who also served in WW2.

Norman Pritchard Maclean (/explore/people/208613), Granville's brother, had three sons that served in WW2. they were Noel (/explore/people/799615)Maxwell (/explore/people/799608) (my father), and Kenneth (/explore/people/799614).

That made 13 family members who enlisted for service in 2 world wars. The lone family member who did not return was Norman Jnr (/explore/people/643992), who was killed in action in Syria in 1942.

An otherwise very fortunate family.
