Private Jack Laldlaw (killed) was a son of Mr. R. Laidlaw, late of Rutherglen, Vic., and now of Boolaroo, and was 21 years of age. He was employed on the electric motors in the Great Southern Gold Mine, Rutherglen, at the time of enllstment. He took part in the first landing at Gallipoli, and after a month's fighting was wounded In the shoulder and leg with shrapnel, but he was soon back again in the trenches, where he remained till early in August. A brother (Bob) and an uncle of the deceased are at the front.
