1 Feb 1919: Honoured Military Cross, Mont St Quentin / Peronne, For gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack at Mont St. Quentin, near Peronne on 1 & 2 September 1918 when the advance was held up by superior enemy numbers and machine guns, and a hap occurred with troops on the flank, he moved his troops to form a defensive flank despite intense artillery and machine gun fire thus securing the attacking units of the brigade and enabling further progress to be made.
