Son of Captain Robert and Susie GHEST, of Chiswick, Drummoyne, NSW

"...1100 Pte Robin Hubert Ghest, 13th Battalion... Pte Ghest, an estate agent from Five Dock, NSW prior to enlistment, embarked with C Company from Melbourne on HMAT Ulysses on 22 December 1914. Whilst serving at Gallipoli he contracted dysentery and was evacuated to Malta where, on 10 September 1915, aged 30, he died as a result of his illness... interred in the Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)

PRIVATE R. H. GHEST.
Private Robin Hubert Ghest (died of illness) was the eldest son of Captain R. C. Ghest, of Five Dock, and was 29 years of age and unmarried. He was educated at the North Sydney Grammar School, and at the tlme of enlistment was in business on his own account as house and land agent at Bondi. He landed at Gallipoli on April 26, and was wounded soon afterwards. He  subsequently returned to the firing line, and had been there for some time when he was seized with illness, and was admitted  into hospital at Malta. Here he met a younger brother, Corporal Jack Ghest, who had been wounded, and the latter was with him 
at the time of his death.
