Son of James Till and Clara Florence Till nee Mortimer of Park Terrace, Bowden, SA.  Later of 'Kirkcaldy' Beach Road, Seaton Park, SA. Brother of Richard James Francis Till, Clara Florence Till, Frank Henry Till, Roy Ernest Till, George Albert Till who returned to Australia on 31 Jamuary 1918 having served with the 27th Battalion, Owen Samuel Till, Morris Cyril William Till and Myrtle Irene Till

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

At the time of enlistment he was employed at Burfords Timber Works

Member of several associations including Bowden church Brigade, Gymnasium, Ovingham Methodist Football and Cricket Club
