Military Medal
'On the night of 6th/7th October, this driver was driving in a wagon team bringing up ammunition on MENIN ROAD. The column came under heavy shell fire. The other driver of his team was killed, also his two mules. This driver extricated his wagon and with the remaining two mules got his wagon clear under heavy fire showing conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty deserving of recognition.'
