9 Aug 1918: Wounded AIF WW1, Lieutenant, 409, 6th Infantry Battalion, Wounded in action at Rosières-en-Santerre, France on August 9th, 1918. He had his wounds attended to in the field by Private Charles Herbert Stewart, SN 7572 who was subsequently killed instantly by a sniper at the time.

The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan and published in 2017 - refer to pages 147 and 261. Prior to the war this member was a railway porter of Annandale NSW. He enlisted 9th Feb 1915 aged 23 years. In 1918 he was a Lieutenant in the 6th Battalion. He was awarded the MC during his service, and he returned to Australia 2 Jan 1919.
