Biography

Private, 5 Platoon, B Company, 5th Pioneer Battalion.

Killed instantly by shell fire near Messines on 2nd December 1917 after returning from a screening patry. Sergeant Morris DCM, the platoon sergeant was also killed by the shell and buried with Crowhurst. Major Smith, a chaplain with the 8th Brigade lead the burial service.
