Private Claude Harding, who died of Wounds, was 22 years of age, and was born at Dover, Tasmania, where his relatives still reside. Mr Harding was well and favourably known throughout the district as a Methodist local preacher.
Regret was expressed at Longford when it became known that Private Claude Harding, who had enlisted in Victoria, had died of wounds received at the Dardanelles. Private Harding was well known and respected at Longford, nearly all his boyhood days having been spent with hlis aunt (Mrs. WT. Scott). He was an active member of the Methodist C.E. Society, and also took a great interest in temperance work.
