KILLED IN ACTION. PRIVATE MONAGHAN.
Father Donogher conveyed the news yesterday to Mr. Monaghan, 58 Johnston Street, Boulder, that his son, Private Thomas Monaghan had been killed in action in France. He had previously been twice wounded. The deceased soldier, who had been away three years, left with reinforcements of the 11th Battalion, and afterwards was transferred to the 51st Battalion. Prior to enlisting he worked as surface hand on the local mines, and was also well known in the outback mining centres. A younger brother, William, was killed at Pozieres.
