Private William McCann enlisted into the 10th Light Horse Regiment, 4 January 1916 aged 41 years and left Australia 16 May 1916 returning 29 April 1919. He is the only McCann in the roll for the 10th Light Horse. Francis Willam McCann was the son of Private McCann's brother Francis (Frank) McCann and his wife Ellen McCann nee Harris.
