Son of Robert Charles Quinan and Isabella Sorlie Quinan nee McDonald of Natimuk, Victoria. Brother of Henry James Quinan who returned to Australia on 1 September 1919  having served with the 5th Machine Gun Battalion

Husband of Dora Maria Quinan nee Neyland of Kinara, Victoria. Andrew and Dora married during 1913c in Victoria

Commenced retun to Australia on 7 February 1919 aboard HT Lancashire disembarking on 31 March 1919
