THE LATE PRIVATE GREER.
Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Greer, have been notified that their son, Gunner E. G. Greer, has been killed in action. He enlisted two years ago, and was at the front for eighteen months. He went to France after a brief period in Egypt. Private Greer was born in Adelaide on September 4, 1898, and educated in the Flinders-street State School, where he passed with high honors and was then transferred to the High School. After he left school he was employed as an electrician for 18 months, when he passed his examination for the public service. He was a junior mechanic. He was about 18 months in the Government service when he enlisted, and he was a member of the United Ancient Order of Druids.
