Died on this date - 15th May.......Private James Lister Tatterson was born at Warragul, Victoria in 1898. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 3rd August, 1915 as an 18 year old Clerk from Trafalgar, Victoria.

Private Tatterson disembarked at Suez on 25th November, 1915. He was transferred from 58th Battalion to 59th Battalion on 15th March, 1918 & arrived in France on 29th June, 1916.

Private Tatterson was wounded in action in France on 19th July, 1916. He was invalided to England & admitted to Military Hospital, Edmonton, England on 22nd July, 1916 with gunshot wounds to left forearm & fractured radius (slight).

Private Tatterson recovered & was returned to France & rejoined 59th Battalion on 29th December, 1916.

Private Tatterson was transferred to 29th Battalion on 4th August, 1917. He was on leave to UK from 21st February, 1918 & rejoined his Battalion on 9th March, 1918.

Private Tatterson was wounded in action (2nd occasion) on 25th March, 1918. He was invalided to England & admitted to Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, Hampshire, England on 4th April, 1918 with gunshot wounds to right thigh (severe).

Private James Lister Tatterson died at 8.55 pm on 15th May, 1918 at Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, Hampshire, England from wounds received in action – gunshot wounds to right thigh. He was buried in Christ Church Military Cemetery, Portsdown, Hampshire where 5 other WW1 Australian Soldiers are buried.
