"...2749 Private Griffin Inglis Laughton, 8th Reinforcements, 14th Battalion, of Glenorchy, Vic. Pte Laughton enlisted on 2 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Makarini on 15 September 1915. He was later promoted to corporal and served with the 46th Battalion. Cpl Laughton was killed in action on 5 April 1918 at the Somme, France. His brother 1255 Pte James Henry Laughton, served with the 5th Battalion at Gallipoli." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
