11 Apr 1917: Imprisoned Bullecourt (First), Captured by the German. He sustained bullet wounds to his thigh prior to capture and died of wounds in Verden Hospital whilst being held as a POW. It is thought he may also have sustained a wound to his head. It is believed that he was well cared for. (seeAWM Red Cross file)
