Clifford James Jones was born on 11 December 1896, in South Australia, Australia. He lived at Henley Beach , City of Charles Sturt, Henley and Grange in South Australia. He lived in Adelaide , Australia, for all his life until the war. He was also a Christian.

Service papers-

Clifford James Jones decided to join the war when he was only 18 years and 7 months old. He enlisted in Adelaide SA and joined the R7 unit. He was in the unit in 12/3 Light horse.

He was Embarked Private, 1907, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, HMAT Geelong, Adelaide. He was then detached to 12/3rd Light Horse.

Location of Service

He served in the war for around 2 years. After about 6 months, he was admitted to the hospital because of a hernia. After his full recovery, he again joined the same unit he was in. He was admitted to hospital in April 1918 with gastro.

Life After War-

He was not married before the war but later in 1916 he married Florence Elma North in the Draper Church, Adelaide.

He joined Henley & Grange RSL Sub Branch.

He sadly then passed away in 1971. He was buried next to his mother Sarah Jane Jones
