Private Percy Cleaver was born in Windsor and educated at Eton in England.

Son of William John Cleaver and Emily Cleaver of Beaufort Street, Perth WA.

A membre of the firm Cleaver Bros., Fruiterers and greengrocers of Beaufort Street, Perth

He enlisted in 1914 but was discharged before leaving Australia. He again enlisted on 16 Jun 1915 and was on the Gallipoli Peninsula by 30 Jul 1915. He was wounded on 29 Aug 1915 and sent to Bethnal Green Military Hospital in London, before returning home and being discharged on 22 Aug 1916

CLEAVER. —The Friends of the late Mr. Percy Cleaver late No. 2315, 16th Battalion, A.I.F., beloved husband of Florence, of 12 Camberwell street, Victoria Park, loving son of Mrs. Emily Cleaver, Lincoln street, Perth, fond brother of Ernest and Albert (England), Arthur, Charles, Albert, Bert, William, Horace, Edie and Florence, are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, the Salvation Army portion of the Karrakarta Cemetery. The Funeral is appointed to leave the Private Mortuary of Messrs. Mead, Son and Co., 190 Albany road, Victoria Park, at 3 o'clock THIS (Saturday) AFTERNOON. Friends wishing to attend may proceed by the 3.10 o'clock train from Perth.
