Harry Thornhill Loveridge was born on 14 April 1886 in Gawler, South Australia. Before enlisting, he worked as a railway employee, dedicating his time to ensuring the smooth transportation of people and goods. His hometown was St Peter's, South Australia, where he resided at the time.
In August 1915, Harry made the decision to enlist and join the war. He joined the 31st Battery of the Field Artillery Brigade 8. Harry embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A7 Medic on 20 May 1916. He left behind his family and friends and set sail, prepared to face the challenges and hardships of war.
During his time in the military, Harry served as a Gunner, he played a crucial role in providing artillery support for his fellow soldiers on the frontlines.
After the war, Harry returned home to his family and loved ones. He resumed his civilian occupation as a railway employee.
In 1952, at the age of 65, Harry passed away. Harry was laid to rest in the AIF Cemetery at West Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia, a final resting place befitting a true hero.
