William Henry LUDEMANN was born on 6th August, 1895 in Goodwood, South Australia

His parents were William (Wilhelm) LUDEMANN and Agnes BEST

He had previously served for 2 years with the Senior Cadets in the 78th Battalion and transferred to the Citizens Military Forces (78th Battalion) and was still serving when he enlisted in Keswick on 14th July, 1915 & embarked with the 32nd Infantry Battalion, A Coy on 18th November, 1915 on the HMAT Geelong

William returned to Australia on 5th July, 1919 on the ship Port Melbourne and was discharged on 10th October, 1919

William married Gladys Gertrude BROWN on 30th July, 1921 at the St Georges Church in Adelaide - two known children, Sydney William & Kathleen Frances.

He died on 21st December, 1941 and is buried in the North Road Church of England Cemetery, Adelaide

His brother Cyril LUDEMANN (SN 3397) also served in WW1 and returned to Australia in 1919

Another brother Harold Roy LUDEMANN (SN 3685)  served in WW2 and was discharged in 1940
