30 August 1915 - Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli
Reported missing from HT 'Southland'; believed drowned.
12 May 1917 - Court of Enquiry concluded: 'Drowned at Sea, result of torpedo explosion'.
August 29th, near Lemnos, the 6th Brigade were crossing from Alexandria to Lemnos in the S. "Southland" which was torpedoed. Adams was on the fore part of the vessel when it was struck. He was missing at Nolicash and is supposed to have been drowned.
