Son of Charles Denroach Vaughan Foss and Alma Charlotte Foss nee Ridley of Carnarvon, WA. Brother of Daisy Foss, Dudley Finister Foss, Gerald Lewis Foss, Rose Foss, and Vaughan Edgar Foss who was killed in action of 11 August 1918 and is buried in the Heath Cemetery, Plot 1V, Row B, Grave 3

Commenced return to Australia on 10 July 1919 aboard HT Oxfordshire disembarking on the 4 August 1919
