Walter Westbrook ANSTICE was born in Wellington in New Zealand on 20th August, 1889

His parents were William ANSTICE & Martha Elizabeth BINGHAM who married in New Zealand in 1883

He married Gladys Florence TUTTLEBEE on 29th June 1920 in the Central Methodist Church in Chatswood, Sydney - they had 5 children - Westbrook, Peter, John, Betty & Patricia.

Walter died in Lewisham Hospital in Wagga Wagga on 30th September, 1946 and is buried in the Wagga Wagga Monumental Cemetery

Walter had previously served in E Company of the 1st Battalion in Wellington, New Zealand before coming to Australia and enlisting to serve during WW1 in the 5th Infantry Battalion, the 19th Infantry Battalion and the 5th Machine Gun Company and again during WW2 as a Pilot Office in the Royal Australian Air Force (see links & profile for futher details)

His son Westbrook William ANSTICE (SN NX43650) also served during WW2 in the 2/6 Armoured Regiment and was discharged on 23rd November, 1945
