Pte Alfred Ernest Wilson, 1893-1918 SERN 2662. Eldest son of James Wilson and Emily Isabella (nee Steedman) from 'Woodstock' Mount Seymour. He enlisted when he was 23 (a couple of months after his younger brother George had enlisted) and was killed in Action 18 months later while serving with the 12th Battalion in France.

Two of his youngest brothers enlisted a few months after Alf's death but did not leave Tasmania due to the cessation of hostilities.
