Frank Rupert Rayment MM

Frank Rupert Rayment was born 4th January 1898 [1] in Isisford, Queensland, Australia, the son of William Henry Rayment & Margaret Adams.

Following the outbreak of the Great War, Frank enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces on 12th February 1916 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia & joined 11th Depot Battalion; transferring to 2/47th Battalion Reinforcements on 1st April 1916. He embarked overseas 20th April 1916 on H.M.T. "Hawkes Bay" from Sydney. On 11th November 1916 he was sent to France. Frank was awarded the Military Medal on 19th June 1917 & promoted to Lance Corporal, followed by promotion to Corporal 30th August 1917. He served in France & Belgium & was discharged from service 20 Aug 1919.

Frank Rupert Rayment married Irene Lillian Winifred Staff on 16th November 1928, in Queensland, Australia.

Frank Rupert Rayment died 13th July 1969 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. His ashes are interred at Mount Thompson Memorial Gardens, Holland Park, Queensland, Australia.
