Howard Palmer WARING was born in Fitzroy South, Victoria in 1895
His parents were William Josiah WARING & Sarah Ann PAGE
He enlisted in Melbourne on 18th January, 1915 and embarked from Melbourne on board the HMAT Ulysses on 10th May, 1915 with the 21st Infantry Battalion, A Company
Howard was on the torpedoed transport ship Southland & served in Gallipoli, France & Belgium - at the time of his death he was a stretcher bearer
He died of wounds in Belgium on 25th October, 1917 and is buried in the Belgian Battery Corner Cemetery
