'PHILLIPS, Arthur Claude. Private, No. 3413. 15th Battalion. Born at Rockhampton in 1892, and educated at Allenstown State School, Rockhampton. The son of Arthur John and Jane Phillips, of 33 Davis Street, Rockhampton. Enlisted in July, 1915, and attached to B Coy. 15th Battalion, and went to France. Congratulated for his gallant conduct in bringing in wounded on 9th August, 1916, by Major-General Sir H. V. Cox. Returned to Australia in May, 1919.' from Queenslanders Who Fought in the Great War. News has been received that Private Arthur Claude Phillips, son of Mr. A. J. Phillips, 33 Davis-street, Rockhampton, has been wounded. Three of Mr. Phillips's sons have joined the forces. One, Private Ernest Phillips (/explore/people/127502), was invalided home some months ago, but is now working in the military motor garage in Melbourne.
