Son of John Samuel Quick and Emily Jemina Quick nee Waring of Burton Street, North Sydney, NSW. Brother of Stanley Harold Quick who returned to Australi on 12 March 1919 having served with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion.

Commenced return to Australia on 2 January 1919 aboard HT Berrima disembarking on 22 February 1919
