Biography

5 March 1918 - Unit: 14th Battalion AIF - Recommendation for Commendation

 

For galiantry and devotion to duty at H...... during the Battalion's tour of duty in the time from 29 January to 5 February 1918.

He was a Company runner and carried messages from Company to Battalion headquarters during gas bombardment.  Although suffering from the effects of gas, he carried out his duties in a highly satisfactory manner and remained on duty until the Battalion was relieved.

After the Battalion was relieved, he was evacuated, suffering from the effects of gas.
