Sydney John FIFER was born in Sydney in 1884

His mother was Mary Elizabeth FIFER - father unknown at birth - he is later listed on Sydneys marriage in 1920 as William

He married Vera ADDICOAT in St Saviours Church in Redfern, Sydney in 1920

He enlisted in Sydney on 7th December, 1916 and embarked with the 1st Field Artillery Brigade, April 1917 reinforcements on the HMAT Suevic from Melbourne on 21st June, 1917 - he was wounded on 18th September, 1918 and returned to Australia on 18th December, 1918 on the ship Aeneas and discharged as medically unfit on 9th March, 1919

Sydney died on 15th May, 1966 in Concord, Sydney and is buried in the Macquarie Park Cemetery in North Ryde
