Pte ARNOLD GEORGE KNIGHT
Studio portrait of 2859 Private (Pte) Arnold George Knight, 6th Reinforcements, 26th Battalion, of Bothwell, Tas. Pte Knight enlisted on 17 August 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses on 27 October 1915. He was killed in action on 5 May 1917 in France, whilst serving with the 12th Battalion
News has been received that Private Arnold George Knight of Bothwell was killed in action about May 5. Private Knight enlisted in August, 1915 and joined the 26th battalion. His younger brother Private William John enlisted in April1916 and left Tasmania with the 40th Battalion and his father. Sapper Charles Knight enlisted in December last, whom, as road inspector, he was granted leave of absence by the Bothwell Municipal Council.
