Albert Joseph SPRATT MM CdG(B)
On 25th September 1917 during the battle of POLYGON WOOD he displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When all the stretcher bearers of his company were out of action he filled the breech and continually carried out wounded through heavy barrage fire although severely shaken himself. His untiring and gallant conduct undoubtedly saved many lives.'
