27 Feb 1918: Transferred AIF WW1, Lance Corporal, 8th Infantry Battalion, Rejoined his unit from Hospital.
30 Aug 1918: Honoured Military Medal, Merris (France), On the 30th August 1918 he was Awarded the Military Medal for Bravery in the Field (MM) as a result of actions taken on the 13th April 1918 to Ambush the Germans with a Machine Gun to protect his Unit from Attack.
30 Aug 1918: Promoted AIF WW1, Corporal, 8th Infantry Battalion, As a direct result of his Bravery in Action & Military Medal Award, he was Promoted to Corporal.
