18 Nov 1917: Promoted Second Lieutenant, No. 4 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, Promoted on completion of course.
18 Feb 1918: Promoted Lieutenant, No. 4 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, Promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to 4 Sqdr, C Flight. Proceeded back to France 6-Apr-1918.
14 Jul 1918: Imprisoned "Peaceful Penetration - Low-Cost, High-Gain Tactics on the Western Front", Shot down near Nieppe forest by ground fire while attacking a barrage balloon and captured. POW for remainder of war.
