He was 35 and the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Wray (nee Cook); husband of Ellen Wray, of "Rayville," Undercliffe Rd., Undercliffe, New South Wales.

He is remembered on the Navan Great War Memorial, Town Hall, Watergate Street, Navan, County Meath, Ireland. He was born in Navan.
