Writes about Private Stewart in his war diary. He Writes "| enlisted May 15th 1915 Sworn in as an Infantryman in the Comm.
Expeditionary Forces. Was in camp for almost 2 weeks at Broadmeadows,
Afterwards went to Seymour Camp - was in the Advance Party and here we had our training. | scored four bulls and an outer out of 5 shotS at 300 yardsrange. I trained every night and many days whilst in camp - was placed in Coy as second reinforcements to 23rd Bat. who were 3 months ahead of us. Saw Cousins Les and Frank Stewart frequently. Les was 6th reinforcements to 7th Batt. l was on the roadside and saw Les (the last time) as he marched by to
embark."
