Biography contributed by Faithe Jones
Son of John George and Sara Annie Bubb; husband of Mrs. M. L. Bubb, of "Ceramic," Thorne St., Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.
Member of Lodge St Clair 47
The sad news reached here on Friday last that Sergt. J. L. Bubb had been killed in action. The deceased soldier was very well known here where he was respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. In peace times he was a school teacher at Nacki, but resigned his position to take part in the great struggle for freedom, and was not long in camp before he was promoted to sergeant, a rank that he held over in France. He married the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Prowse, of Greenview, Nacki Nacki, and a fine son was born to them shortly after the father had sailef. He was a fine specimen of Australian manhood, and was one of the cleanest living men we ever knew. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, and belonged to Lodge St. Clair, Adelong, his mother lodge. Quite a gloom was cast over the town when the sad news became known, and much sympathy was expressed for the young widow and relatives, to whom we offer our deepest sympathy.
