Son of Louis Augusta Verryck and Charlotte Theresa Verryck nee Lloyd of Hope Place, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

Brother of Fleetwood Anthony Louis Verryck (sometimes referred to as Verryck-Fleetwood) who returned to Australia on 21 February 1917 having served with the 15th Battalion.

Commenced return to Australia on 5 April 1918 aboard HT Borda disembarking on 1 June 1918 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane

During 1919c George married Amelia May Green in Ballina, NSW
