Thomas (Tom) William Sullivan was the youngest of 4 children of Thomas Ernest Sullivan (Cork, Ireland) and Euphemia Hardie (Gladsmuir, East Lothian, Scotland). Tom's parents married in Adelaide, South Australia in 1881 and died there in 1890. Euphemia remarried Samuel Francis Wyatt in Adelaide in 1891 and Eupemia and her children moved to Brisbane, QLD in 1892

Tom had worked as a Labourer in Cairns, QLD and was a Stockman when he enlisted in the AIF in Brisbane, QLD in 1916.

Tom served in France as a Private (Service No: 3119) with 7th Reinforcements 42nd Australian Infantry Battalion and with 2nd Machine Gun Battalion 7th Machine Gun Coy.

On his return to Australia in 1919, Tom worked as a Labourer in Cairns, QLD and in 1923 married Mary Ann Farquarharson Whit in Abau in Papua New Guinea where Tom was an Assistant Plantation Manager.

The family returned to Cairns, QLD in 1925, where Tom worked as a Labourer until his death in 1942
