Son of Harold Hennell and Mary Elizabeth Hennell nee Bone of 'Plumphir', Dennison Road, Petersham, NSW formerly of Ballarat, Victoria
Brother of Harold Benjamin Hennell who was killed in action on 6 August 1915 while serving with the 4th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Lone Pine Memorial, Panel 22; William Thomas Alma Hennell who returned to Australia on 1 July 1919 having served with the 19th Battalion; Harold Hennell, Myrtle Ellen Hennell, Reginald Stanley Hennell and Albert Edward Frank Hennell
