Percy Charles Duncan was born in Sandwell, Port Adelaide, South Australia, on 22 October 1888.  Before Percy's time in the army, he was a well-trained striker. On 12 Aug 1916, Percy Embarked enlisted as a Private with a Service Number of 3675. He was part of the 32nd Infantry Battalion and left Adelaide on HMAT Ballarat. While training in England he became sick with rheumatism and was returned to Australia in 1917 without ever seeing the front.

Percy died on 5 April 1963. He was married to Alice Carr Jane who sadly died ten years later. They had three children: Rixon Alice Duncan, Jessie Mackay, and their youngest Harold William Duncan who sadly passed away two years after his birth.
