It appears he undesrstated his age at enlistment. On marriage in 1900, he gave his age as 24. Ellen McGregor was 25 at marriage-she was the daughter of the late Alexander McGregor-Fred was the son of John Warman, shoemaker. The marriage took place at 2 Canning Street, Glasgow.
