Husband of Florence Monks of 37 King Street, Sandy Bay, Hobart, Tasmania. Florence later re-married and was known as Florence Sutcliffe. Walter's residential address at the time  of enlistment was 150 Campbell Street, Hobart, Tasmania, Louise May Monks, Elsie Blanche Monks and Walter James Monks.
