Harry Stradling, born in Upper Holloway in London, arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on board the Ajana in July 1912. He wroked in Big Brook, Nelson and Bridgetown Western Australia as a Mill Hand until he enlisted in the AIF in May 1915. Harry served as a Private (Service No: 2529) with 48th Battalion, 16th Battalion and 4th Field Ambulance until his Discharge in July 1919. He was Wounded in Action in Boulogne, France on 10 August 1916.

Following his return from WWI, Harry worked in Esk on the Darling Downs in QLD as a Timber Worker and in 1923 he married Annie Doole.

They lived and worked in Alderley in Brisbane, QLD, where Harry was a Tennis Shoe Maker until his death in 1963. Harry served with the ACMF as a Private (Service No:Q200115) with 1 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps (QLD) from 1942 - 1945
