Son of William T. Hosie and Ellen Raine Faval formerly  Hosie of 'Millamolong', Mandurama, NSW. Brother of Charles Phillip Hosie who died of wounds on 5 May 1916 while serving with the 18th Battalion an is buried in the Balleul Community Cemetery Extension, Nord, Plot 11, Row D, Grave 26
